Introducing The Dartmoor Art Event ~ Calling all Artists!

Widecombe-in-the-Moor Primary School on Dartmoor in Devon are hosting an exciting Art Event in April 2012. The event will be an Exhibition, Sale and Auction taking place on the 18th and 19th April at the Ilsington Country House Hotel on Dartmoor.

We are looking for Artists to participate in this event by donating a piece of their artwork. The Artist can choose to have their piece sold or entered for the auction. The artwork does NOT have to be connected with Dartmoor. We are looking for a wide variety of pieces; jewellery, painting, ceramics, photographs, sculpture etc. The idea is to share the profits between the participating Artists (40%) the School (30%) and  two local arts based Charities (30%). We have chosen the Helen Foundation and Magic Carpet.

The Helen Foundation is a local educational charity that aims to support and motivate young people in all branches of the Arts. More information can be found at their website www.the helenfoundation.org.uk

Magic Carpet is also a local charity that exists to improve the health of society's most vulnerable people through contemporary creative arts provision. More information can be found at their website www.magiccarpet-arts.org.uk

The Exhibition of all the artwork will be held at the Ilsington Country House Hotel on 18th and 19th April from 10am until 7pm. Items will be for sale at this time. Prior to the auction a flier and brochure will be available on request.
All works will have a fixed price on them, any discount to a prospective buyer will be individually agreed.

The Art Shop (18th & 19th April 10am until 7pm) will sell a wide variety of smaller items which we invite artists to contribute to, for example photocards, small ceramic pieces, jewellery etc.

The Auction ~ the remaining works will be auctioned from 7 to 9pm on the 19th April 2012. We intend to sell each piece to the highest bidder, but a reserve price could be agreed if specifically requested.

The Ilsington Country House Hotel have kindly offered to be the venue for this event. For more information on the hotel and how to get there please visit www.ilsington.co.uk
